Tour of North OxfordshireI am please to invite people interested in the name Baughan and it's variants (Baughen, Baughn, Baugham, Bauffin, Baffin and Boffin) to a tour of North Oxfordshire on Sunday August 10th 1997. The objective is to show places of interest to the Baughan etc. families in this part of Oxfordshire. The tour will start from Horse Fair (next to Banbury Cross), Banbury at 10am (meet at 9:45). It will cover Banbury, Bicester, Chipping Norton, Great Rollright and Bloxham plus other places along the way. It will finish in the late afternoon. The distance covered is about 47 miles. There is no charge for the tour. It is left to individuals to arrange all transport (and accommodation if people wish to stay in the area). No refreshments will be provided but there should be opportunities to sample some 'watering holes' and there will be an opportunity for lunch at Chipping Norton. If Bloxham Museum can accommodate us there will be a modest entrance fee (was 30p for adults and 20p for children in February). The Museum have produced a pamphlet, 'A walk round Bloxham'. They are prepared to print further copies at 40p each but would like to know the numbers in advance. Therefore if you would like a copy please let me know (please pay on day). If you are able to share transport it would assist with the organisation , in particular with car parking at the various locations.
