Lorene Barker book 2nd

In 1954 Lorene Barker published research on the US Baughn
families. A second edition was produced in 1992 with some updates including
photographs. The book is 9" by 6" and contains 88 pages. It is still available
at US$15 (including postage) from Mary Greene, 388 Baughn Trl, Carthage, NC
28327, USA. Mary is contactable at

| Census |
UK Census Maps |
I have produced maps that show the occurrence of the study names in the released
censuses of 1841 - 1911. The counts reflect the number of people within counties
who were born with the name or acquired it e.g. through marriage.
The figures are as complete as possible. Apart from the obvious fact that some people are not
identifiable or may never have been recorded it is known that some records have
been lost (e.g. 1861 Thrupp, Oxfordshire).
The maps have been produced using GenMap and then screen images taken.
The maps are now available as an Adobe Acrobat PDF document covering
1841 - 1911.

British
1881 Census - Discrepancies with LDS CDs |
The LDS released a series of CDs with transcriptions and
indexes of the 1881 British Census. I have compared these with the information I
had collected and where I found discrepancies I have gone back and checked the
films. I've since corrected my versions where I have made mistakes or
misinterpreted the data. The linked page shows where there are still
discrepancies. |

Military Service around World War 1 |
I've consolidated various records to do with the
Military service the Baughans etc.
participated in around World War 1. The table shows which Medal Rolls, Pensions
records and Service records match to the individuals. A considerable number of
records have different names but I have put them under the names that I identify
as the person. There are still some individuals that have not been identified.
The page also contains extracts from the National Roll of the Great War. |

when it was first built. I've included most of the legible Baughan gravestones
